Four Appointments

Today, three months after my initial cancer diagnosis, I had four appointments at MSK in preparation for my scheduled surgery on June 15. The first appointment was an ultrasonic reexamination of my right leg to determine the status of the blood clots that led to the insertion of a filter in my vena cava (they have not migrated and have diminished significantly in size). The second was a follow-up meeting with the surgeon who will operate on my liver, Dr. William Jarnagin. The third was an initial meeting with the surgeon who will resect my colon, Dr. Martin Weiser. The fourth was for pre-surgical testing. On June 9, I will meet with the physician who will clear me (presumably) for the surgery and be available to deal with any issues that might arise during my hospital stay that would be outside the provinces of the two surgeons.

A lot has happened to me in the last three months. I will post tomorrow on what I learned today about my upcoming surgery.
