Charlie of Saratoga-- and Arabia

Mary Corrado very kindly sent more photographs, which just arrived, that she took during my same trip to Abu Dhabi and environs. In addition, she sent some photos from a visit that the Corrado family paid us in Saratoga Springs, New York, a year and a half earlier, during the August, 1978, racing season. The first three photos above show me studying intently the horses in the paddock; the fourth depicts Susan and me at the track; the fifth captures Martin Corrado and me at the kitchen table concentrating on handicapping the next day's races.

Tomorrow is the Belmont Stakes. I'm not sure, but I don't think that I have missed a Belmont Stakes since 1964, when I skipped my Princeton University graduation ceremonies to attend. So tomorrow, I'll be concentrating on my horse-race handicapping once again!
